Communications Strategist for Campus Total Defense

The Swedish Defence University is an internationally renowned institution in defense, crisis management, and security. We offer a unique academic environment where civilian meets military. We train civilian and military leaders, experts, and researchers to analyze and manage today's and future crisis situations and security issues. The Swedish Defence University trains Sweden's officers and leads the academic development of the officer profession. We conduct research in law focusing on operational law and international law, defense systems, war science, leadership and management, military history, and political science.

Would you like to help develop communication for a newly established national collaboration within total defense? Do you have at least five years of experience as a communicator, a strong ability to work independently and strategically while proactively solving daily operational tasks? About Campus Total Defense

Campus Total Defense is a national collaboration aimed at strengthening knowledge and competence within total defense. Through research, education, and collaboration between academia, authorities, and industry, we contribute to a more robust society.

The position is located at the communications department in Stockholm.

Job Responsibilities

As a communications strategist, you will play a key role in Campus Total Defense. You will be responsible for communication and will both develop and implement communication efforts for Campus Total Defense. You will work on behalf of the head of the program office but belong to the communications department of the Swedish Defence University.

Your main responsibilities include:

  • Communications advisor to the head and steering group.
  • Responsible for external communication and visibility in various channels.
  • Responsible for internal communication with the educational institutions and other organizations involved in Campus Total Defense.
  • Plan, produce, and publish content on the web and social media.
  • Project manage events and conferences.
  • Coordinate communication efforts to strengthen the Campus Total Defense brand.
  • Create engagement and disseminate knowledge through digital and physical activities.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for someone who has:

  • At least five years of experience working as a communicator, preferably with a focus on external communication.
  • Experience in web editorial work, social media, and project management of events.
  • Excellent ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish and English.
  • Experience working with strategic communication.

Desirable qualifications include:

  • Experience working in the public sector, especially in higher education.
  • Experience in public operations.

About the Employment

The position is a permanent full-time position that begins with a six-month probationary period.

Employment at the Swedish Defence University may involve a security review according to the Security Protection Act (2018:585).

The position may also involve military placement. If you are already military placed in your current position at an authority and your skills are needed in the Swedish Defence University's military organization, a negotiation will take place between the relevant authority and the Swedish Defence University regarding where you will be placed.

By agreement.
